Silk’s Vault Publishing is a full service, royalty paying electronic publishing company that specializes in publishing sensual to erotic romantic fiction, be it mainstream romance or pure erotica. We prefer boldly written stories that contain content both sexual and explicit and has a tendency to stretch the rules. (i.e. Christine Feehan, Bertrice Small, Dara Joy, Emma Holly, etc.)

At Silk's Vault, writers are encouraged to stretch the fine line between sensual romance to hard core sex and fantasy without going over the edge. We challenge all our authors to come up with the hottest, steamiest, most sizzling fiction they can create, and they get to have a lot of fun while they're at it. Based on the level of content, all books displayed on our website are subjected to our
SILK Grading System.

We pay our authors 35% of the listed price on all downloadable sales sold through the website. We publish all genres; fantasy, science fiction, suspense, historical, etc. in PDF, LIT and HTML(Zipped) formats but will be expanding into print in the future.

Vault Specialty Submissions:

In addition to regular genres, Silk’s Vault is also currently looking for submissions in our specialty genre lines.

The Red Silk Diaries (RSD) - This is a four author anthology series. Stories submitted for this specialty line must be written in first person point of view. Chapters are replaced with dates and times, therefore the story will have the look and feel an actual diary entry. All genres are welcomed for this line.

Holidays Between the Sheets (HBS) - This line consist of both anthology and single titles. Stories submitted for this line must center around our chosen holidays, Halloween, Christmas/New Year, Valentine's Day and Independence day.

Dark Silk - For those of us that love the darker side of romance. Dark Silk specializes in stories that you often don’t see anywhere else. Erotica consisting of all elements of the dark and sensual world of the supernatural, such as demons, warlocks, vampires and werewolves. Stories in this line aren’t for the faint of heart. All genres are also welcomed.

Brown Sugar - This specialty line is for stories in urban erotica such as African American and multicultural romance, both sensual and erotic. All genres are welcomed.

More specialty lines will be arriving soon!

*If you wish to submit a story for one of above mentioned lines, please make a mention of the name in the subject of your email and in the cover letter.*

All Manuscripts must be engaging, well written, have a solid plot line with well-developed settings. Characters must be fully three-dimensional and realized. All manuscripts must contain sexual content and language that is explicit and can leave nothing to the imagination (for example, Dara Joy, Christine Feehan, Thea Devine, Susan Johnson, Beatrice Small, etc). Each story must also focus around a romance. For a better description, see our SILK Grading System on this website.

We would also like to see originality and professional-level storytelling. History should be well-researched. Totally fictional worlds in fantasy and science fiction must be visualized clearly. Get your facts straight.

We will accept simultaneous submissions, HOWEVER, please indicate if the work is currently under consideration with another publishing company.

Although we encourage all writers to stretch the boundaries of the imagination, there are some exceptions that we simply will not allow:

We do NOT accept works that include sexual intercourse or the abuse of minors under the age of 18 in any form. Necrophilia (eww!), non-consensual sex(rape), bodily functions(i.e. golden showers), or BDSM that results in the actual death of an individual are major no-nos. We will also reject works where individuals are subjected to strangulation or suffocation as part of the sex act, whether self-inflicted or otherwise. Bestiality is also not permitted, however sentient animals (I.E. Shape shifters or Aliens) are permissible Other than that, anything goes.

Note: Rape may be used as part of the plot action, especially supporting character development, but MAY NOT be presented in a positive light. However, it can be use to stimulate erotic excitement or pleasure. (i.e. A woman can be forced into a seduction, by the male character by overriding her senses and literally taking her will power away or vice versa.)

Submission Guidelines:

Submissions are done in a three step process. The first step is to send, within the body of an email, a professional cover letter to submissions@silksvault.com. Attach a file to that email containing the full manuscript in MS Word or RTF format. We do not accept any other format other than the two stated. When you save the file, please name it the title of the manuscript included. We will notify you when we receive your submission.
